Liv's 11 Month Update
Happy Thursday guys! I was up and at em early this morning to prepare for a segment on Global News Morning. I was there discussing losing the baby weight. It went along with my post I did a couple of weeks ago. If you missed it, you could find it here.
As for today's post, I am giving just a quick 11-month update on our little Liv Anniston.
Liv's 11 Month Update

appy Thursday guys! I was up and at em early this morning to prepare for a segment on Global News Morning. I was there discussing losing the baby weight. It went along with my post I did a couple of weeks ago. If you missed it, you could find it here.
As for today's post, I am giving just a quick 11-month update on our little Liv Anniston.
can not believe she is almost a year old! Holy crap did this last year fly by. I am currently trying to decide if we are going to have a birthday party or not. Obviously, she wouldn't know the difference, and it is going to be in the middle of playoffs so not ideal timing. We may just end up celebrating at home with just the fam.
I have to say that I think ten months was my favorite age. She is still a load of fun, but she is defiantly starting to test us more and more every day.
I am pretty sure she thinks the word no means wait until mom turns around and then continue to do whatever you want. On occasion when she realizes we are serious and needs to stop she glares at as. Yes, she has mastered the dirty look!!! How do they learn that this young?!
She had her very first tantrum about a week ago. I sat her down to play, which was not what the princess wanted to do, so she started thrashing her toys around, then threw her blocks all while staring at me as if she was looking directly into my soul.
I have decided this is probably the time I need to educate myself on disciplining; anyone has any good parenting books they would recommend?
Sleep:
With less travel this month we are getting into a great sleeping pattern. We have taken away her morning naps and are now down to one nap a day. This has been a game changer! Having more freedom to leave the house and not rush back for nap time is AMAZING. Every so often she will sneak in a little cat nap in the morning, but I find if I keep her entertained she can power through.
For the most part, I think she was ready to lose one of the naps. She always seemed to have one decent nap (an hour +) and then one not so great nap (30 minutes or so). So one day we just didn't put her down for her morning nap, and it went okay, so we kept on it. We are now at about two weeks with no morning naps and her afternoon naps are now around two and half hours, hallelujah!
Her night sleeping has continued to be pretty solid, even through teething. One issue we have had, though, is her waking up super early like around 5 am every morning. To address this, we put back her bedtime; she now goes down at 8 pm. We also let her cry it out in the morning. We decided 7 am was the earliest we would get her out of bed. She only had a few mornings where she really protested. We are a couple of weeks into it now, and it is still hit and miss. Sometimes she will sleep in until 7:30, other mornings starting at 5 am she will wake, cry for a few minutes and fall back to sleep. Thirty minutes later wake, cry for a few minutes and then fall back to sleep. This will go on until we finally hit 7 am. So it is a work in progress but will be worth it if we can eventually get to either sleep in or play in her crib quietly in the morning.
ating:
Gone are the days where she would eat anything I put in front of her. Now if she doesn't like something she will just spit it out or throw the food off her tray for the dogs to eat.
She is great at feeding herself, though when she is tired she prefers to be fed still. The majority of her food is solid, but if she doesn't like dinner or a meal that we made, then I will grab a packet of pureed food for her to eat.
I am still breastfeeding but am planning on stopping at 12 months. I am already dreading this. Liv loves to breastfeed, loves it. (But I don't) I also got in a bad habit of using nursing to soothe her, she doesn't take a pacifier, so I felt like I didn't have any other options. So for the past month or so I have been consciously trying to stop that. It is a challenge, and sometimes when I am really tired, I do give in. We have also gradually cut down the nursing sessions, we are down to 3 times a day, morning, nap time and bed time. I plan on working on cutting out the nap time nursing next.
Milestones:
Well, I think Liv is going to be one of those babies who skips crawling. Our entire house is hardwood floors so I am sure that has had something to do with the fact that she never gets up on her knees. She scoots on her but really well, though, and that gets her where she wants to go.
Personality:
This girl is such a ham. I am always amazed how well she works a crowd. Smiling, blowing kisses, playing coy, anything to get attention, haha.
This turned into a lot longer post than I anticipated, sorry! I will do a full updated post next month when the little lady turns 1!
Much Love,
