Breakfast Bar Recipe
Good morning guys! I know a lot of us have house guests this time of year, so I wanted to share a recipe for a great snack to have on hand for anyone to grab and go. This recipe is a crowd-pleaser; everyone in my family has adopted this recipe and makes them on the regular.
Breakfast Bar Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup of honey
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 cups old fashioned oats
3/4 cup of wheat flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup raisins
pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Very lightly spray a 9 x 9 baking dish with olive oil.
In a small bowl, stir apple sauce, honey, vanilla, and egg together until mixed well. In a large bowl mix oats, flour, brown sugar, almonds, and raisins. Stir honey mixture into oat mixture until well blended.
Scrape into the prepared pan and flatten using a spatula or spoon.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Cool on a wire rack for about an hour. Cut into desired sized squares and enjoy.
