Reflections on 2020
Merry Christmas!
I hope everyone is enjoying some time with family. It is a little bittersweet for us — we are loving being able to spend Christmas with some family, but we have to say goodbye in two days and it is hard not to think about that. Back in March, we came to stay in my parent’s basement for what we thought would be a couple of weeks and now here we are, just about 10 months later! While we are excited to get back to our home, (and out of my parents basement) we definitely got used to having family around and it is going to be an adjustment getting back to our normal. I always hear people say that we lost an entire year, but I feel quite the opposite. I feel like I was given a year, a year that we would never get to experience otherwise. A year where I have gotten to spend more time with my husband than I ever have before. A year where I got to really know my nephew as a teenager, a year where my girls got the gift of being around their Gaga and Papa on a regular basis. It’s the year I learned how to bake sourdough bread, the year my mom taught me to sew, and a super bittersweet memory, the year I renovated an RV. Of course, my favorite memory of the year was welcoming our baby boy. Yes, a lot of bad came from 2020, but I truly think when I look back at this year I will only remember how special it was.
From our family to yours, we hope you have a wonderful holiday season and end 2020 on a high note!
Much Love,
