How I Style My Hair (Video Tutorial + Favourite Products)
Well, hair is still the number one thing I am asked about so today I am going to tell you how you can get these loose waves. You can read on below or if you want to watch me do it you can check that out over on instagram here.
To achieve this look the most important thing is your curling wand! For me the curling wand I use makes all the difference. If I am using a good quality iron that gets really hot not only will it curl my hair easier but the curls will last me days! In the past you may have seen me using a NuMe curling want but they have since changed their wand supplier and the quality is just not there anymore. I gave away the new NuMe I had bought and decided to invest in a T3 curling wand (7) and it has not disappointed!
For hair product you really have to find what works for you and your hair type. I am not really super loyal to any one brand but lately been loving the Kerastase Blonde Absolu line. I use Heat Protecting Serum (6) before curling and sometimes after to help with any frizz.
Once my curing iron is nice and hot (I use the highest heat setting) I take smallish pieces, as you can see in the photo and wrap around the curling wand away from my face. Make sure not to wrap the bottom inch of your hair. And it is as easy at that! Do your entire head and if you the swooped over look like you see in the picture wait until you are finishes. Curl all your hair with it parted in the middle and then when you are done toss over a section to the other side, this will ensure you get that volume.
Other Hair Care Products
This doesn’t really matter for this hair style but I know I will get asked so will share the other hair care product I use:
1. Oligo Blue Shampoo and Conditioner - nothing will compare to this shampoo, in my eyes. This shampoo saves me multiple trips to the salon to get a toner. I know some of you have expressed its too strong but I love it, I love it I love it! I have been using it for years with no end in sight.
2. Microfiber Hair Turban - quickly absorbs water, reducing frizz and split ends
3. Wet Brush - I love this brush for me and my daughter! Gets through tangles with little no hair pulling.
4. Dyson Blow Dryer - best hair dryer hands down. Leaves my hair feeling so much healthier after using than any other hair dryer.
5. Kerastase Blond Absolu Violet Shampoo & Conditioner - This one leaves my hair feeling a little more hydrated then the Blacklight so I will mix it in every other wash or so.
Revlon Hot Air Round Brush Blow Dryer - I love this hair dryer for the ease when doing a blow out. So if I am planning on wearing my hair straight I use this blow dryer. The other times I use the Dyson blow dryer because I feel like its not as damaging to my hair.
Again, if you want to see how I use all of the above products, you can check out the video here.
Much Love,
