Top Apps for Bloggers
Creating and maintaining a blog, creating content for social media and all other digital and creative jobs have a lot more behind them than most people know. It’s never just as simple as writing some words and posting a photo from your camera roll. I often have to take time to plan, shoot photos, edit photos and make sure my words are spelled correctly and enticing to my readers.
If you are looking to start your own blog, up your social media game, or just interested in trying out some new apps, I wanted to list the top apps I think bloggers need to have on their phones to make their lives easier!
PLANNING
NOTES
This simple app is key for inputting any ideas, captions or thoughts as they come up. It’s a good idea to keep the app handy on your home screen so that if you come up with a great idea, remember something you want to share with your audience, or even need specific details and numbers listed in your blog post, you can jot them down for reference when you sit down to write.
PLANOLY
This is a great app to have for planning, scheduling and posting! You can see your Instagram feed and add photos without posting to see how they’ll flow together. This app also has basic analytics, so that you can see how your posts are performing!
VSCO
This is another great dual app, where you can edit and plan your feed, you just cannot post from this app. Both photos and videos can be edited on VSCO with some really great presets they provide, or you can fine tune things yourself!
EDITING
LIGHTROOM & PRESETS
This is such a great app for editing photos! You can edit the colours, the clarity, everything yourself or you can purchase presets (from influencers, from Etsy, etc.) and edit your photos with the click of a button! I highly recommend this one.
SPLICE
Perfect for video editing - it has an audio library with great sounds for your editing and makes it easy to customize your video!
GARAGE BAND
While the app was originally created to record music on your phone, as a content creator you can use it to record podcasts on the go! If you need to do an on-site interview, or just record a voice over or quick snippet - this app is what you need.
GRAMMARLY
If you are writing anything, you need Grammarly. Just download the keyboard and it will correct spelling and grammar in real time. Nothing should go live without using this app first.
DESIGN
UNFOLD
Use the templates in this app to create really beautiful and engaging stories. It’s simple to use and makes your story stand out!
CANVA
If you love Canva online, you’ll love the app too! It’s just as easy to create on your phone as it is on your desktop, so you can create professional looking content wherever you are! Definitely. a must have.
SHARING/storing
All of the apps below are really helpful when storing and sharing content, whether it’s from person to person or device to device. If you work with a team, these apps are great for sharing between a team and being able to update in real time. To get full use of these apps, you may need to spend a little bit of money, but if it makes your life easier, it’s worth it! Definitely do some research to see which of these would be best for you.
