Reflecting on the End of Another Hockey Season
ANOTHER SEASON HAS COME AND GONE...
I was going through all my photos from this past hockey season and I couldn’t believe how much has actually happened in just 9 short months! We kicked off the start of the hockey season with Carey stepping away from the NHL to enter a rehabilitation center and coming back to multiple setbacks in regards to recovery from his knee surgery. It took just about the entire season, but Carey finally made it back and was able to play the last few games of the season. Boy, did we soak in every last minute of it! We had all missed being at the games and cheering on dada! Due to Covid and then the setbacks this season, we hadn't been to a normal hockey game in years! It’s funny looking back on it, how much I took for granted in regards to bringing the kids to the hockey rink to watch daddy play.
We are so grateful to have had a happy ending to the season, but as hard as things were this year we had some really great moments too. Liv started kindergarten and had a fantastic school year! Picking her up from school was one of my favorite things to do. I loved hearing about her day on our commute from downtown back to the south shore. Millie’s personality has really developed this year. She made friends with everyone in the neighborhood and loved hanging with the big kids. And Lincoln? Well, we brought a baby with us to Montreal 9 months ago and now we are leaving with a very vocal almost toddler!
I’ve had my own challenges this year: navigating our new normal with Carey, health issues continuing and not being able to have my family from the US come to visit, but I’ve also had a lot of wins this season. I’ve continued to see my brand grow through my blog and launched a very successful clothing brand (thanks to all of you who supported it)! I’ve also experienced a very successful first year for Line Change, a clothing line for the female sports fan that I created along side my good friend Julie Petry. Each year I’m learning more and more that while there will be unforeseen challenges, there’s always something to look back on and be thankful for.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that the kids and I have just arrived in Kelowna and are settling into our newly renovated home, anticipating Carey’s arrival soon! We are so excited to have some time off in one of the most beautiful places and just enjoy the summer as a family. Of course, I cannot wait to show you all the result of our two-year renovation and take you along on many of our summer adventures. Another hockey season has come to a close, but that just means a new chapter has opened for the Price family . . . so stay tuned!
Much Love,
