Angela and Julie take NYC

Line Change took us to New York City for a few days last month and I hadn’t seen Julie in over a year, so we had a ton of fun! So many of you followed along on Instagram, but there were so many questions about where we stayed, places we ate and other details, so I wanted to put together a little guide of our NYC trip.

WHERE WE ATE

+ Waverly Inn Phenomenal Food. I had the scallops and they were possibly the best scallops I have ever had. It has a very cool, hole in the wall vibe. If you are from Montreal, or familiar with Guard Manage, it has a very similar feel.

+ Polo Bar — A very cool, pretty big restaurant, but that didn’t take away from the charm. This is a must on my list when you visit the city. We tried to taste a little of everything while we were there. Our starter was the corned beef sandwich and it was incredible!

+ RH Guesthouse — We stopped by here for lunch and once again, we were blown away! It is owned by Restoration Hardware, so you know the decor is out of this world, but the food was too! Again, we shared a few dishes and were able to try a variety of things. The beet carpaccio was delicious and light enough that you could pair it with a main, a side of garlic fries and create a very nice lunch for two.

+ BG Restaurant — Eating on the top floor of Bergdorf Goodman was a pleasant experience, for sure. We stumbled upon this place for a quick lunch after some shopping. Our ‘quick lunch’ ended up lasting a few hours, because we were having such a good time! This is a great place to grab lunch or high tea during your next shopping trip.

QUICK BITES

+ The Butcher’s Daughter — We became regulars here during our time in the city! Everything we ordered was a hit, but the walnut cocoa lattes is what kept me coming back for more.

+ Honeybrain — When on the hunt for something quick and light, we found this place and it was perfect.

+ Spring Cafe — A great option for a quick, but delicious breakfast!

WHERE WE STAYED

+ The 11 Howard — We ended up at the perfect location, right in SOHO. As with every hotel in New York City, the rooms were tiny, BUT the staff was very kind. Early check in and late check outs were not an issue, which makes such a difference. They have a beautiful lounge on the 2nd floor and it’s a great place to do some work, eat a quick breakfast or grab a cup of complimentary coffee. We felt that we really got a bang for our buck here.

WHAT WE DID

+ SLT Pilates — This was my first time on a mega-reformer! I felt like the class itself was hard to follow, but I was able to copy what my neighbour was doing. The next day I was sore in all the right places and, for that reason, I would definitely go back. If you plan to visit, make sure to pack your own sticky socks (they’re required), if you forget they do have some that you can purchase on site.

+ Remedy — OMG! If you are a wellness junkie (like us!) you have to go here! It is a wellness club, but you do not have to be a member to enjoy it. They have it all: saunas, ice baths, lymphatic compression, red light therapy and even IV drips! We only had a couple of hours to spend there, so we did the Cryotherapy (think standing in the freezing cold for 3.5 minutes, ouch!), the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber and then we both got Vitamin B shots to complete the visit. We easily could have stayed an entire day!

+ Maria Tash — I’ve mentioned this place before and I got a couple of piercings done last time I was in the city, so when Julie said she wanted a piercing I knew where we had to go! Once again, it was such a great experience.

+ & Juliet — One must do in New York City is going to see a Broadway show! We saw & Juliet, which is a spin on Romeo and Juliet. The show was so clever and well done, we really enjoyed it. It was a great girls’ night out!

Of course, on top of all of the food and experiences we got some work done for Line Change, which is always really satisfying. We can’t wait for this year and all of the things we’re going to be able to share with you! If you have any other questions about our trip, leave them below. Hopefully Julie and I are able to do another girls’ trip (and we don’t have to wait another two years) — it was so much fun!

Much Love,
