Coeur D'Alene Idaho Recap
You probably saw on Instagram that we took a week off and rented a little mountain retreat in Coeur D’Alene. We have been quarantining in my parents basement for the last 8 months, so we took a much needed trip away to get a change of scenery. It is just a short drive from my parent’s house, so no flights were required. We rented a home on VRBO and ordered groceries in, so we felt like we were being safe and responsible during this rise in Covid. All these factors are the reason that I don’t really have too much to share about the trip, but did want to address a few questions I was getting.
We had wanted to make this trip during the summer and rent a house on the lake, but I am kind of loving how this trip turned out. We were surrounded by cold crisp air in a little cabin like home up the mountain, there were Christmas decorations, holiday music and we cozied up by the fire. It was the perfect little getaway.
We found this home on VRBO, which I have now used a handful of times and have never had a negative experience. We absolutely loved it! It is already pretty booked up, otherwise we could consider going back ASAP. It is really the ideal setting in which to spend Christmas with the family or even the perfect place to have a quarantine New Years get together with your bubble people - maybe one year!
For grocery delivery we used Fred Myer, which is what I use in Tri-cities and is pretty good for the most part.
We did do the Cruise to the North Pole, which was a lot of fun. We have a group of friends who come up here every winter to do the cruise, so it was so fun that we were able to join them this year! We did get dinner from Crafted one night and the food was excellent. They also had little private igloos on the patio to eat in - such a cute way to social distance and still enjoy a dinner out.
That pretty much sums up our little pre-Christmas getaway! Let me know if you have taken any socially-distanced mini vacations and what tips you may have for other people looking to “getaway” safely! Now, it’s time to start preparing - Christmas is only two weeks away!
Much Love,
