June Amazon Finds - Camping Edition

If you have been following along on Instagram, then you know we recently bought an RV to fix up. We are now RV campers, but we have been tent campers for years and years. A lot of you were interested in what we have used over the years, so I put together today’s post with all the things we actually own and have used for years and everything you can get from Amazon.

You can find my glamping post HERE.

1. Cast Iron Pan - We like to cook over the fire as much as possible while camping so a cast iron pan is a must. Everything you will read about camp fire cooking says do not go cheap on your cast iron! We are going with this one to keep in our RV.

2. Stainless Steel Utensils

3. Heat Resistant Silicone Gloves - These gloves will come in handy for a number of things but especially for handling the cast iron pan.

4. Dutch Oven Liners - These also can keep cleanup minimal

**A lot of the time, tinfoil cooking over the fire is easy and convenient when a pan is not necessary. You want to be careful of cooking food in tinfoil, because the aluminum can seep in to your food. First, cover the food with parchment paper then cover with tin foil.

5. Coleman Stove - Sometimes cooking over a fire is not an option so we bring along this stove and a stainless steel pan from home.

6. Tent - If you are a tent camper, then do yourself a favor and buy this tent! I will never ever understand people who buy these little tents they have to crawl into that have a million different polls and what not. No, no, no. Save your money and purchase this tent right from the start. We have had and used this one regularly probably for 10 years. Still works great, still just as in love with it.

7. Ceiling Lantern with Fan - Then buy this to hang from the center. Or if no fan is needed, these little bulbs are so handy

8. Camping Table - It is so nice having a little table in the tent, if you have room. I love this one.

9. Sleeping Bags - The hubby is a big man, so we went with these Big and Tall sleeping bags. Again, a little bit of an investment at $85 each, but again we have had ours for 10 years and still love them. Worth the price. Note: if we are camping somewhere warm we will usually leave the sleeping bags at home and use normal bedding, because if you know me then you know I like things to look pretty!

10. Air Mattress - These are kind of a crap shoot and I feel like, no matter what, they have to be replaced every few years. So, there are a couple of things I look for when purchasing them. First is price. Expecting to replace it in a matter of 2 or 3 years I won’t purchase an expensive one. Second is I love the double high mattresses. Maybe its me getting older, but I don’t want to crawl on the floor to go to bed. The double deckers are so nice. Last, make sure it has a built in pump. This just makes things easier and then you don’t have to worry about packing an additional item (a handheld pump) even if you are camping in the bush, most cars have a plug these days so you can blow up these mattresses anywhere.

11. Camping Chairs - We have gone through a lot of camping chairs in our day and now have a variety. I have to say, these are hands down the most comfortable and convenient ones. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on this love seat (12) though, just because I feel like it would look so cute sitting outside the camper.

13. Cooler - Another investment item, but you do not get better than a Yeti cooler. We get two ice blocks to put in each corner, then fill it up and we are good for like a 3 or 4 day weekend away. Usually, there is still ice in the bottom by the time we get back home!

Other Fun Camping Stuff:

14. Trash - maybe not fun, but we have to talk about it. This trash can is not the prettiest, BUT it has clips to hold the trash bag which is sooooooo nice.

15. Food Covers

16. Yeti Rambler (36oz)

17. Yeti Rambler (14oz)

18. Portable Hammock

The most chic lantern (19) I have ever seen!

I hope this helps with your camping preparation, whether you’re a tenting person or more of an RV traveller! I’m really looking forward to seeing how our camping trips change now that we have an RV and almost three kids!
