Family Smash Book
This past fall, I shared our family “smash book” with you guys and you were so in to it! I thought I better put tougher a blog post giving you all the details. If you are not familiar with a smash book, it’s just a unique way to document anything that matters to you without worrying too much about getting it neatly organized. They sell actual Smash Books and even ones that come in a little kit with stickers and other fun stuff on Amazon!
I had a few of these through high school (which I would highly recommend if you have a child around that age, I love looking back at mine). Recently, I’ve brought it back and created a family smash book. It’s just a quick and easy way to keep track of what is going on with our family and not having to take the time to create a super pretty scrap book. Since I wanted it a little nicer than my high school ones, I put my own spin on it and made a little DIY Smash book.
What You Need:
Photos - I LOVE my Canon Ivy Cliq+ for this! It is a camera and printer in one, which is super cool and the photos are printed on sticker paper, so it is as easy as peeling and sticking right in to the book. You can also print photos from your phone using bluetooth!
Pens - I don’t have the nicest hand writing so to keep things pretty I got this kit of ‘hand lettering pens’ which makes any hand writing look instantly better.
Colored Pencils - I like to have a little fun and add some color.
As you can see, I keep our book pretty simple, realistically that is the only way I will keep up with it. If you are more creative than I am, below are a few more examples of smash books.
I just love this way of keeping all our family memories together and I know we’ll look back at them for years to come. Let me know if you also make smash books, or if I’ve inspired you to start!
Much Love,
